What We Know About the 2025 Toyota Sequoia SUV

The 2025 model year brings some noteworthy updates to the Toyota Sequoia.

Fans of the Solar Octane paint color will be disappointed to see that it has been removed from the options list. Smoked Mesquite is no longer available either. However, a new paint color — Mudbath — is now available exclusively for the TRD Pro.

Not only that, a new trim level has joined the lineup, bringing with it a plethora of exciting features. This new 1794 Edition boasts luxuries like American walnut wood-grain interior trim, premium leather-trimmed Saddle Tan massaging seats with contrast stitching, and heated and ventilated front and rear seats.

Talk about a well-stocked ride!

A Heavy Hitter: 2025 Sequoia Towing Capacity, Capability, and Comfort

The Toyota Sequoia in 2025 leaves no room for debate when it comes to its “heavyweight” status. From its performance capabilities to its well-appointed interior, we have to say…

The Sequoia packs a mean punch.

Toyota Sequoia Towing Capacity

While you might think you need the power of the Toyota Tundra for true towing strength, the Sequoia begs to differ.

The Sequoia’s towing capacity will vary between trim levels. The SR5 4x2 model leads the pack with a maximum towing capacity of 9,520 pounds (when properly equipped) and a maximum payload of 1,730 pounds, allowing you to bring plenty along with you.

For regular long-haulers, the available Tow Tech Package with a wireless trailer camera system may prove a worthy investment. This package offers a digital display rearview mirror, Trailer Backup Guide with Straight Path Assist (SPA), an exterior antenna, and a wireless trailer camera. Get ready to enjoy more towing confidence!

Engine Performance and Capability

The Sequoia provides more than a comfortable ride behind the wheel — it also offers driving thrills.

All six of the Toyota Sequoia trim levels are equipped with a powerful i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo V6 hybrid engine and an electric motor that boast 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. The Sequoia is also equipped with a 10-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i).

The SR5 and Limited come in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, depending on your preference. The rest of the trim levels come in four-wheel drive.

Boundless Comfort Inside the Toyota Sequoia

This larger-than-life heavyweight champion provides comfort for you and your passengers in more ways than one. Whether you choose the base trim level or the luxurious Capstone, you’ll be treated to a variety of features that enhance every road trip and commute.

The SR5 and Limited provide maximum seating, accommodating eight occupants, but if you don’t need that extra seat, the rest of the trim levels accommodate seven occupants. You can look forward to the following features in the 2025 Toyota Sequoia lineup:

  • Available wireless smartphone charging
  • Wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®
  • Available power tilt/slide panoramic roof with power sunshade
  • Available 14 JBL® speakers, including subwoofer and amplifier
  • 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen
